Derek is a 38-year veteran of the Canadian tech space, having founded and lead publicly and privately firms in the mobile, IoT and Analytics market segments (PCS Wireless, Intrinsyc, Mobidia), as well as being a board member and angel/seed investor in many other tech firms. He has engaged in the VC community with board, advisory, and partnership positions (BC Discovery Fund, BC Advantage Fund, Quorum Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, ScaleUP Ventures). Derek has always taken a strong interest in the non-profit side of the tech community as a board member of AceTech, Wavefront, WinBC, DigiBC, and Vancouver Enterprise Forum. Derek has personally funded Science World’s Scientist in Residence Program, and Earth Justice. He has an Electrical Engineering degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.

Mr. Lichtenwald has over 15 years of finance and accounting experience, including public company compliance, corporate finance, accounting and financial management, initial public offering, reverse takeover services, and microcap uplisting. Mr. Lichtenwald has lived and worked in multiple jurisdictions including Germany, Australia, and Canada. He currently holds director or officer positions in a number of publicly listed companies. He earned his bachelor of business administration degree from Pforzheim University, Germany, and holds the professional designation of chartered professional accountant (CPA and CGA). He is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, as well as the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.

Previously, he lead a cloud infrastructure implementation team at Microsoft working with Fortune 500 companies, managed data center and infrastructure implementations at Abgenix Biopharma (now Amgen), and project managed campus-wide technology initiatives at Simon Fraser University.

John Wigboldus

As Chief Revenue Officer, John is accountable for growing Turnium’s business. Prior to joining Turnium, John was the sales leader at Rise People and before that, SVP Sales at CounterPath, a Vancouver-based software company recently acquired by Alianza.

At Rise, John grew ARR by 50% while at CounterPath, John increased revenue by 56% over 4 years, while transitioning the company to a SaaS revenue model, resulting in 60% of CounterPath’s total revenue being recurring revenue.

An entrepreneurial veteran of the technology industry, John brings sales, marketing, and business development experience to Turnium. Prior to CounterPath, he worked at Icron Technologies, Allstream, and Sutus. He was a senior leader and founder at ADZILLA new media, and has held sales leadership and operational roles at Voyus, C1 Communications, MetroNet, AT&T International, and TELUS.

John holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and sales and marketing accreditations from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).

Nicky Kearns

Graduated in Engineering, in his native Dublin, Nicky took on a wide and varied career from TV broadcasting to fiber and satellite system, from TDM to IP, and from support, project management, and sales engineering in three countries on two continents. Most recently, he had a 20-year career at Cisco Systems working on most of the solution sets Cisco offers and with some of the largest enterprises in the world, alongside partners and service providers. Following Cisco, Nicky was a co-founder and COO of Turnium, building up the SD-WAN as a Service offering in the Canadian market. Nicky, in his spare time, is an avid Liverpool FC fan and loves to ride bicycles and motorbikes whenever he can, alongside many other hobbies and volunteering.

Before joining Turnium, Remi was an entrepreneur, running a company in Thailand offering IT solutions for SMEs and Enterprises. Johan Arnet

Johan has founded and grown six IT, internet, and telecom companies since 1995. He began developing the proprietary software that is now Turnium’s SD-WAN platform in 2009. Johan studied Computer Science at Simon Fraser University and left after two years to become an entrepreneur and continue the IT Consulting work that he had started in high school. In 1999, Johan received the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). In 2009, Johan also started Rocket Networks, an Internet Service Provider business, and sold it to TeliPhone Navigata in 2014.

Evelyn Bailey

Evelyn Bailey, ICD.D, has over 30 years of experience at IBM. She has supported the BC Government (Public Sector), Bell Canada (Telcomm), and recently Scotiabank (Financial), driving double-digit growth through transformational IT. By aligning financial objectives with talent and collaboration with partners, Ms. Bailey has led complex turnarounds for IBM’s multi-billion-dollar Storage & Systems (Mainframe, UNIX/AIX) and Data & AI divisions. Outcomes included balanced improvement in the P&L, double-digit revenue growth, and increased client satisfaction. Ms. Bailey is Global Managing Partner, Scotiabank – Kyndryl (an IBM spin-off). Her prior roles include Global Managing Director, Scotiabank – IBM, Senior Vice President, Data & AI – IBM, and Senior Vice President, Systems Technology – IBM. Ms. Bailey completed her ICD.D in March 2020.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Engineering Science (Aerospace) from the University of Toronto and an M.B.A. (Honours) from the Schulich School of Business at York University. Ralph is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). He currently serves as a Director on the board of TSX-listed Converge Technology Solutions, TSXV-listed Edgewater Wireless Systems, and TSX-V listed Spitfyre Capital.

Peter initiated and led the negotiation of a $1 billion contract with the province of British Columbia, representing the then-largest commercial transaction in TELUS history.
